Holding Absence's MODERN LIFE IS LONELY is getting an unusually analog-heavy deluxe edition from Sumerian Records.

Limited to 500 units, the custom clamshell box brings together the album on exclusive vinyl and cassette alongside an action figure, foldout poster, interchangeable artwork — and a VHS tape.

It's an interesting example of where VHS collecting is heading in 2026: the format isn't only being used for movies anymore. Labels are increasingly treating videotape as a collectible object capable of living alongside vinyl, cassettes and other physical music releases.

Originally scheduled for August, the physical release was delayed because of manufacturing issues and is now due September 18.

Includes Modern Life Is Lonely on Ice Blue + Violet Cloudy with Glitter vinyl housed in a die-cut gatefold jacket with six interchangeable cover-art prints, obi strip, eight-page booklet and download card. The custom clamshell box also contains the album on cassette, an exclusive Y4-BB0 action figure, 12x36 foldout poster and VHS tape. Preorder release date is September 18, 2026.
