Labor Day just got a lot bloodier.

Retro Release Video is bringing its own original shot-on-video slasher LABOR DAY to VHS.

Directed by Nick Evanyke and shot entirely on videotape in 2023, LABOR DAY follows a group of friends trying to enjoy their holiday get-together when a sinister figure begins stalking them from the shadows — and apparently has his eye on the meat at the smoker, too.

The film was deliberately created in the tradition of the straight-to-VHS horror movies that filled video-store shelves in the early '90s.

And VHS isn't just a novelty format here: Retro Release Video describes LABOR DAY as its first original film and confirms that the tape itself is currently a preorder item with an estimated 2–4 month fulfillment window.
